Communal Garden
Shinfield, Berkshire
A communal garden design for a new housing development provides a show piece as visitors enter the site. The communal garden is a space designed ,not only for the marketing suite but also for the residents. One of the key features is the bespoke steel ‘Canada Geese’ sculpture rising above sweeping curves of weathered steel that retain raised beds planted with perennials that replicate the movement and colour of the original meadows that made way for the new houses. Betula utilis var. Jacquemontii introduce height and structure with the white bark creating a striking feature during the winter months. Three curved benches set round the raised bed of lavender, provide a place to reflect and relax for both staff and visitors in this communal garden.
