Updated Village Garden

Bramley, Hampshire

In this updated village garden a bespoke oak structure with a back drop provided by a Betula utilis var. ‘Jacquemontii’ tree adds height to the new, sunny, seating area. Furthermore, this paved terrace and curved lawn continue the informal theme of the existing curved terrace. All of these elements complement each other, creating a cohesive design.

Shrubs and herbaceous planting screen the back boundary fence, and a new herb garden with feature topiary Laurus nobilis takes advantage of a sunny border. Additionally, granite setts are used to edge the paths and circular terrace and these add a cottage garden feel with a contemporary twist.

Box hedging creates all year round structure and anchors the oak structure in the design, as well as providing a neat, low maintenance frame for the terrace.
