This courtyard garden design project breathed new life into an inaccessible, tired courtyard garden. The garden has been transformed into a series of relaxing spaces, including a morning terrace to enjoy the papers, a dining space for BBQs and a cool shady spot.
All the old crumbling brick walls were replaced with raised oak sleeper planters that also provided extra seating perches when entertaining. In addition, the light sandstone paving defined the space and created an easy to maintain, easy access garden.
My clients retained some of the original features in the garden such as the greenhouse, bench and wall scupltures. These were incorporated into the new design and the sculptures and pots add a personal touch.
The planting scheme provided plenty of year-round colour whilst still being easy to maintain. As my client enjoyed pottering in the garden, there were opportunities to add to the planting with seasonal bedding.
