Outdoor Living and Entertaining
Our gardens are an extension of our home and creating gardens for outdoor living and entertaining is very popular.
This family garden in Hampshire was lacking practical space for entertaining despite its large size. Two seating areas provide room for a dining table and a separate relaxed seating area. Linking these two spaces is an industrial style outdoor kitchen with pizza oven and bar seating.
The use of corten steel compliments the industrial theme with decorative screening panels set in the timber gazebo. Additionally, steel edging defines the sedum steps down to the woodland garden.
The use of oak sleepers and natural granite paving is in keeping with the rural location. In addition, the planting design and pond encourage and support beneficial insects.
The client has added their own personal touches to the garden adding a fire pit, various garden ornaments and string lights. These details enhance the overall ambiance of the space.
This garden had several changes of level and whilst steps are an obvious choice, levels can be treated in several ways. Here the land was formed to slope up from a steel retaining curve and down from the raised gazebo using the sedum terracing.
