Family Outdoor Living

The Family Outdoor Living design is all about using the full extent of the wrap around garden to extend the living space. Having completely renovated their property to create a contemporary and stylish home, the clients redesign the garden to maximise their opportunities for entertaining, dining and enjoying their outdoor space, all year round.

The design layout was set on an angle to accentuate the longest length in the L shaped garden.

The large bifold doors look out onto a bubbling water feature and corten screens which hide the very large conifer hedge.

The main seating areas are linked by a series of paths and provide dining, relaxed seating, evening seating and hot tub terraces. These are all held together to create a cohesive space with the use of planting to soften the hard lines of the geometry. Some of the mature shrubs and trees were retained and new trees and shrubs, along with herbaceous planting, ensure the garden has a good balance between hard and soft landscaping and provides habitat and food for wildlife and pollinators.
